Serial Communications

Most DUT designs include a serial interface. The communication protocols, including ISO-9141, J1939/CAN and J1850, vary

between manufacturers. Agilent provides test capabilities for these protocols as well as advanced protocols such as MOST.

Audio and General Measurement Switching

The Agilent 34980A Switch/Measurement Unit provides a switching platform and simultaneous measurement capability for

the TS-5030. The built-in DMM provides up to 6 ½ digits of resolution, fast measurements, and the ﬂexibility to measure 11

types of inputs including AC/DC current and voltage, 2- and 4-wire resistance, frequency and period.

To achieve a low cost low pin count switching, the Agilent 34933A module supplied with the 34980A is conﬁgured as a

16x4x16 (16 instrument x 4 bus x 16 pin) switch matrix.

Additional modules can be added and conﬁgured as 4x32 to increase the pin channel support up to 112 pins in total.

The Agilent 34941A module provides RF switching capabilities, with a wide frequency to cover both low frequency signals

such as audio, and high frequency RF for communications signals.

The Agilent TestExec SL Software Development Environment

The TestExec SL software included with the TS-5030 provides a complete test

development and execution environment for the entire software development

process. The test executive environment is tailored for functional testing of

electronic devices in manufacturing.

The TestExec SL development environment

is ideal to create ECM functional test plans.

It consists of re-usable tests, measurements

and utilities for performing speciﬁc functions

related to automotive electronics. The test

executive allows you to organize and order tests,

reconﬁgure the test stand, proﬁle the execution

speed and debug tests. Building blocks such as

templates, example and test routines are provided

to speed up test plan development.

The software test execution environment allows multiple modules to be tested. Automated testing is further enhanced by

easily linking the test execution environment with barcode readers and printers.

to standardize test process and speed up test.
